The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Soldiers Group
From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in influence within the urban setting.
Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The latest chapter concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of characters who will separate from the central cast to begin their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might appear out of place, but the actions of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the party understands precisely where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading the hidden lair, striking the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.
The traitor then paid off his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their status as key figures in the powerful family could help the party access locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in search of the antagonist.
